A close whale photograph in which a lifetime of wisdom and power is communicated through a brief moment of contact. It is not every day you get to be in this proximity with an animal of this size, but when you do the sense of wonderment is immense.

Captured in the warm waters of Vava’u, this image forms a part of a sequence in which a pod of whales welcomed Craig into their sphere, playfully swimming alongside him and playing up for the camera over the course of four hours.
